***NEWS July 2016 – Our Draft Pre-submission Neighbourhood Plan is available for viewing here or at our consultation events in July 2016. Copies are also available to view at Council Offices, Libraries and Community Centres. ***

A group of parish residents, together with some members of the parish council, are working towards the completion of a Neighbourhood Plan that looks at housing development and where it might be situated.

The plan is also concerned with transport, business, retail, employment, leisure and community facilities within the parish. If the Neighbourhood Plan is approved by an independent planning inspector, it will be acknowledged and used by Ashfield District Council in planning decisions.

None of the local residents in the JUS-t group has any planning experience, and we are all learning as we go along.

However we have made progress in the following areas: we have devised a website and Facebook page, as a communication tool. We have also established our vision statement and our core objectives. We have completed a services and facilities study, looking at what services are available within the parish and how far residents need to travel to access these, ie health services, education, transport, retail etc.

We are publicising what we are doing throughout the parish and continue to develop ways of communicating with all residents and seeking your views. Where do you think houses should be built? What about medical services, employment, and business opportunities?

We have delivered leaflets to your homes, asking for your views on these important issues that will affect you, your children and grandchildren. We have held (and will be holding) consultation events to gather your feedback and comments as we progress.
